Darin Scheer Elected Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Conference of Bar Examiners

MADISON, WISCONSIN, September 5, 2024 — Darin Scheer has been elected Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE). NCBE develops the licensing tests used by most states for admission to the bar.

Scheer is employed as Senior Counsel at Crowley Fleck PLLP, a regional law firm with offices throughout Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota, where he works on large-scale natural resources transactional and litigation matters. He has served on the Wyoming Board of Law Examiners since 2014, serving as Chair from 2017 to 2018. He has served on NCBE’s Board of Trustees since 2017, during which time he has led or been a member of several NCBE committees, including the Multistate Essay Examination/Multistate Performance Test Committee, the Special Committee on the Uniform Bar Examination, and the Multistate Bar Exam Committee.   

Scheer also served multiple terms as the Wyoming State Bar Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates and he is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. In his local community of Farson, Wyoming, he is a past member of the School Advisory Board and he has served as a volunteer firefighter since 2007. 

Scheer received his BS from the University of Wyoming with honors, and his JD from the University of Washington School of Law with honors. Following law school, he was a law clerk for Justice Richard Sanders of the Washington Supreme Court.

This includes the continued development of the NextGen bar examination, which is on schedule for first administration in July of 2026.”
